Provides network design support for the IP Network Planning to Drive the design of efficient and cost effective IP networking and transport layers involving L2 switching, routing, automatic failover, VPNs, traffic prioritization and address translation Own, manage and evaluate L2/L3 IP test plans, tunneling, QoS and acceptance criteria for all network designs. Bridge the gap between business and technology e.g. AS Consolidation for optimization of network resources Build a network topology and transmission resiliency architecture that can sustain fiber cuts Peering Policy Design and Ops Support Ops level 4th support for Peering Traffic engineering To proactively analyze internetwork traffic flows and trends To implement the right engineering solution in an effective and timely manner with an update to appropriate parties and fields To help Peering Coordinator formulate peering policy To organize, document and update the Peering Coordinator with relevant information To establish peering session with the peers Formulate Network Outage Mitigation process Network Optimization to Optimize BGP peer/transit/core TE Peer/transit /core network latency engineering Allocate IP address space and management IPv6 transition planning and engineering Provide less utilization of bandwidth Provide Customer Routing Solutions for network unreach-ability Issues Network Audit and Standards Enforcement Assist technical departments in development of configuration management standardization and deployment strategies Perform scheduled audits of core IP infrastructure to insure compliance and industry best practices. Technical problem determination and resolution of reported or detected issues related to the Core IP platform Document network architecture and topology changes, backup of configuration files and perform network-wide migration procedures and support if necessary Functions as an individual platform operation owner, acting as technical point-engineer for projects and deployments and liaison to vendor staff Subject matter expert for all data technologies in the network and services as a technical leader to the rest of the company in various fields such as Cache Content Solutions and CDN technology Security Design and Support New Technology Adoption such as IPv6, QoS, IPoDWDM, HA and FT Routing Provides highest level of support to all internal & external customers Mentor and Train GTAC/IPNOC and other GIMEC engineers Requirements 7+ years prior network design, operation and planning function experience working for a large wholesale IP transit network provider Thorough knowledge of IP Routing & Switching technologies, Internet routing protocols (BGPv4, IS-IS, MPLS, IPv6), Internet Peering, Route reflectors, Traffic Engineering & Management Hands on skills on Juniper, Cisco, F10 routing platforms Ability to thoroughly analyze product and technology strategies combining creativity to identify technology opportunities, solve problems and conceptualize practical solutions CCNP/JNCIS Certification is a must Bachelor or Masters in CS or EE Preferred ...
